Super Bowl or bust

Evening,

Today we got some bad news, our SLPO (Section leading Petty Officer who is kinda like a counselor) got back from vacation today. Well first he complimented us on a job well done on our test last week. He said he was very proud of us as a class for showing such improvement. In fact he said it was the biggest improvement from one test to another he has ever seen. Then came the bad news, he was very upset with our behavior while he was gone. I know what you are thinking it sounds like we are a bunch of kids or something, and to be honest that is what it feels like sometimes, well anyway to make a long story short we (the whole class) have a "structured weekend" which that means to my understanding is that darn near every minute this weekend is planned for us and it will include mandatory: PT sessions, marching sessions, multiple uniform inspections, study sessions, and darn near anything else they can think of. Well this weekend happens to be the Super Bowl, and as of right now we are under the impression that we will be studying during the game. We are still hoping that with extremely good behavior this week that it won't be so bad but personally I am preparing for the worst. I'll keep you guys updated.

Sounds like someone has a case of the Mondays!

Hi all, well today was OK, but before we get started I want to tell you about last week some more. Well we had PT on Thursday where we were going to play dodge ball (and I was gonna kick butt) but we couldn't find any playground balls to use, so we changed our minds and played basketball. At first it kinda started out like a bad idea, everyone was just standing there, so I took charge and said I was a captain and this guy Cress was the other, and we picked teams. This is where I am kinda proud of my growth as a competitor, I picked my team solely on having fun, not about winning, and let me tell you my team had fun. One girl even said she didn't care about anything else other than she didn't get picked last for once, so that made me feel good. Our team focused on having fun and getting everyone turns which is more than I can say for the other team, I don't think there was an unhappy player on my team. About half way through I decided to start having some fun so when this girl on the other team had the ball and was gonna shoot, everyone was kinda standing there, so just joking around I went over and wrestled the ball away just kinda joking like who would actually wrestle a ball away from a girl during a fun game of basketball. Well that kinda backfired on me because she was very upset, she said that was her first chance to shoot all game. So being the nice guy I am gave her the ball the next time I had it even though she wasn't on my team, and she made the basket, which was cool. Well to make a long story short the game ended after I ran over said girl on accident, I felt really bad. She wasn't hurt but that was the last play of the game so a overall very fun game ended on a sour note. I also stubbed my big toe and the nail turned purple, but I don't think I am gonna lose it.

Well on Friday we had a big celebration here on base. There was a dedication of a new museum / conference room to ADM. Rickover (retired). He is the namesake of the main school building. He is the "Father of the Nuclear Navy". He served 60+ years in the Navy from the 1920's to the 1980's I think. Well anyway there were a bunch of 4 star Admirals here that day as well as I believe Ex President Jimmy Carter (Who was a nuke before being president). So that was kinda cool to be at the same place with these important people (even though I didn't see any of them).

I also found out today that Matt Groening (Creator of the Simpsons) and Robin Williams (actor) were nukes in the Navy. Well other than that this week is another long week, as most of my time here at school will be. I'll try to update more than last week.

Hope you all have a nice week.

Hi Guys!

Hello everyone, how are you guys? We miss all of you very much. Sometimes we get so caught up with everyday life that we forget to say "We love you guys and miss you very much(all of you)!" I especially miss our nieces. All 3 of them are just too darn cute! So besides all this mushy talk, remember that 'get together' I went to, well the game we played is called Bunko(its a dice game), it must be a southern thing cause I never heard of this game before. At the beginning of the game everyone bet 5$. At the end of the game I won my $5 back and $5 more too, so that was nice. The object of the game is to get all 3 dice to land on #1, then #2, #3, all the way till you get to #6 and you play 3 rounds of that. A bunko is when you land all 3 dice on the number at hand. A baby Bunko is when you land all 3 dice on a # that is not "the Bunko #". I actually got 2nd highest on getting the most baby Bunkos! I got 17 and 'the winner' got 18. I'm not too sure this is making sense, but when you actually play it it is really fun! Oh, remember that scrub top that has Elvis on it, I wore it today at work and got a compliment on it! It is just so cute and besides, I love wearing scrubs to work, it kinda feels like your in pajamas all day! Well guys it was nice chatting, I really hope all of you guys remember that we love you and think of you often...nighty night and sweet dreams.LUV Lisa,Jay,&Tony

p.s. sorry about that mop on my head...I had a bad hair day :oþ :o(

Hello again.

Hi all,

First I would like to apologize for not updating the blog at all this week, I have been very busy studying at school. I had a test on Friday that I got a 3.55 / 4.0, which actually drops me in the class rankings from 2/21 to 5/21, but I'm only like 12 out of a possible 400+ behind so it is still very close at the top. Well my ship mates and I keep on messing up, Friday after our test we got yelled at for hanging out in the halls between periods and coming back to class after the bell, which has been a problem for us since the beginning but only recently has anyone started to say anything, well basically as a result of a repeated history of messing up, and the last straw being 3 people coming in after the bell on Friday we had our dots stripped (basically puts us back a phase, which means no civi's (civilian cloths), we have to start marching in again (which means it is harder for me to put in study hours before class, which I did every day last week), and we will stay on ordered quiet longer (which means 3 days next week I will have to bring 2 uniforms to work and change at lunch)). So that kinda sucks, but other than that I'm still on 10-0, and started a new study program which I hope will help me climb to the top of the class rankings. Well today I dropped Lisa off at work and then went and studied for a while. I cleaned up the house a little, and then picked up Lisa at work. I got to meet some of her coworkers and they seemed nice. Other than that we are making our favorite dish chicken pot pie at the moment and it should be ready in about 30 minutes. Tomorrow we will probably clean some more, go see a movie and make our favorite cookie recipe. Well that's all for now hope you all have a nice rest of the weekend.

Hey, What's Up!

Hi guys! I had a pretty good day today, for the most part. I recieve my first paycheck next week Friday, WooHoo! Oh those puppies I told you about the other day, they are Bichons not Shelties. The pronunciation of Bichon is this: Be-shaun(does that help). Anyway, I have to work tomorrow but only for 4 hours. We are filled with appointments so hopefully the time will go by fast. I hope Jay and I go rock climbing tomorrow! Oh, one of the ladies I work with is bringing me another scrub top to wear, it has pictures of Elvis all over it! I LOVE Elvis so I'm excited about that! Once I get it I'll take a pic and post it on here, I'm not sure how well it will turn out though, you'll have to wait and see. Anyway, Tony has been such a good boy lately, so today I gave him like 3 or 4 treats! He is so funny, he only likes chicken flavored treats, he won't eat the tuna treats we bought him. Even though he's just a cat, he has a mind of his own! Gosh he is sooo cute! (he takes after me!) good night guys, LUV LISA

Good Evening! on 01-25-06

Well hello hello!! My day was GREAT! I did a lot of stuff at work today, it was so nice to be busy. Today this lady came in with a litter of puppies, they were the cutest things I've ever seen, not as cute as little babies though! Anyway these puppies were called Shelties, I've never heard of that type of breed. Most of the things I learn there are pretty much all new to me, but I like it! I really want to get a puppy, not just cause I have a job at a vet, I've wanted a puppy for a while now. Yorkshire Terriers are really cute and so are Jack Russells. Chihuahuas are also very cute, loud, but cute. It would be really hard to have a puppy now that I have a full time job, maybe if we got a dog that was already house trained n'stuff.....who am I kidding, Jason will not surprise me with a dog like he surprised me with Tony. I probably have a better chance of getting a kitten than a puppy......not a bad idea! Besides my job and wanting pets, Jason is doing really good. He is at school studying right now+(when is he not!) I understand that he has to do very well in school and he strides to be the best, but sometimes I just wish he would stay home once in a while! whatever. Tomorrow I'm going to that 'get together' and tomorrow is actually my day off, so I'm happy about that! God I have a stomache ache right now!(it's just a stomache ache so don't think anything of it!) Well guys it was nice chatting but I gotta run! have a great night everyone...talk to you tomorrow, Lisa

Wazz Up!

Hey everyone, just to give you an update on my job...I love it there! Everyone is just so nice. I'm learning how to check patients in and out of their appointments, filing, billing, etc. There is still so much to learn though, vaccination schedules, when to start animals on heartworm prevention, various flea and tick medications, etc. So...as you can tell, I have a lot on my plate, but I'll be fine once I learn everything. On Thursday of this week I'm going to a 'get together' with our neighbor across the street. Sheila is her name, and her and her husband have a daughter, Faith...she is SOOO CUTE! We will be playing some sort of game, I'm not sure what though, but I'll have fun. We have the option of bringing a little something to munch on....What should I bring? Any suggestions? E-mail me @ <411andahalf@gmail.com> Thankyou in advance for your suggestions! Well guys, I need to get going, I still need to work out and eat something. have a great night! luv always...lisa

Mornin' !

Hi everyone! I woke up not that long ago(11:15am). Jason is at school studying but he will be home soon and French will probably be with him. French is a cool guy, he is nice and I don't mind when he comes over. Anyway.....Tony is getting on my nerves, I tried to move him away from all the wires on the floor and I had to stop what I was doing and use both hands to pick him up, where as before I would only use one hand to pick him up. He is ONE FAT CAT!! I think he need to be on a diet or something. Besides our obese cat....people are coming over to watch some football game, woohoo! I don't really like football, probably 'cause I don't understand it. My favorite sport to watch is hockey. Hmmm...my favorite team....the Michigan Jaguars!!(my brotheer's team!) next to that is the Detoit Redwings. Sorry guys I gotta run, I need to get ready before people start coming over....talk to you later, Lisa

p.s. I wish more of you posted comments, it would be nice to get some feedback.

Eww!

Jay's buddy French had a package sent from Colorado to our house because it is easier than having it sent to the school. Well anyway the mailman dropped it off today, and there was a small hole about 3 or 4 inches in it. I brought the package in and then out of no where maybe from the hole or maybe it was on the box or something, but all of a sudden I saw a little lizard or something jumping all over the kitchen. My first instinct was to hop on the washer and wait for Jay to get home from school, but I didn't want Tony to eat it so I got a plastic bowl and trapped it, and watched it. Tony came over and started walking around the bowl he was very interested in my catch. Well anyway I should have taken a picture but I was still so startled all I wanted was for this thing to be out of my house, so I threw it outside and washed my hands so much my skin almost came off. Well that was my exciting Saturday so far. Jay just got home and well we are going to go shopping and then bake some cookies. Talk to you later

Lisa

Refreshed

Man oh man do I feel refreshed today, after an extremely long week I actually slept in till about 0930. It was really nice. I was supposed to go study this morning, while Lisa is at work, but when she was getting ready to go to work at 0730 I was like just drive yourself, I'll study later. What a great decision I must say, so far I've watched a little TV, played a little online euchre (which by the way no one down here knows how to play), and listen to some music. Well the cards are calling and I should clean up a little before my old lady gets home so I will attempt yet again to publish some pictures:

This is the US Customs House it was beautiful, we saw like 3 or 4 cats hanging around on the grounds. You can walk up there stairs but we weren't that adventurous last night. Here is also a picture of us in front of it that a passer by was nice and took our picture, but it was set for a night shot so it came out kinda bad.

And here is a picture that we took of ourselves.

Our first visit to downtown Charleston, SC.

Well I decided to take Lisa to Bubba Gumps in downtown Charleston. At first we didn't really know what to expect, I think we used the wrong exit and the area seemed to be a lot like south Warren between 8 - 9 mile, but we eventually found our way, and man oh man what a beautiful city. The buildings were pieces of art in themselves. We took some pictures but I don't think they turned out very good, but I will post some of them anyway. Bubba Gumps was ok I got the "Mommas Fried Chicken" and Lisa got a Caesar Salad with Chicken and a side of Mashed Potatoes, we both got virgin Pina Coladas. They were good but not what I expected it was the real deal with real coconut milk I think, I like the store bought kind better, though. Well here are some pictures from the restaurant :

We used these to tell the waitstaff when we needed something if we were ready to order or needed more water you just flip the sign to Stop Forrest Stop or if you were fine left it on run Forrest Run. Another thing we both liked was the trivia that they had, our waiter Daniel was his name and kinda reminded us both of my cousin Mitch, asked us all sorts of questions about the movie, and I must say we did pretty good as a couple. I think we only out right missed 1 or 2 questions, but were either able to get all of the other ones on our own or with the help of clues. Well after dinner we stopped at the gift shop where Lisa bought a Bubba Gump key chain.

We then went for a walk down the streets, well I wasn't really nervous but I did feel very cautious, it seemed safe to be there at night but it was a strange place and there wasn't a bunch of people and it was kinda dark in some places but over all I felt safe for the most part and so did Lisa, as we walked around a little more I think we got to more mainstream places and saw lots of people. Also I don't remember seeing and pan handlers, which is kinda surprising for a big city, imo. We went for a walk along a little pier thingy that had swinging benches that we sat on. One thing we both noticed was a large number of stray cats. I guess maybe all of the sea food attracts them or something, it kinda struck me as unusual because I don't remember ever seeing stray cats running around down town Detroit. Here are some pictures of down town. We will go back and get some day shots next time so they should turn out better: Oh well I'm having problems publishing the pics right now so I will try and get them up tomorrow. Hope you all have a safe and fun weekend.

-Jason

Happy Friday

Hi all,

Well I bet you are all sitting on the edge of your seats in anticipation of how I did on my test... well I did not do as well as I would have liked. A 3.52 / 4.0, which brings my overall gpa to like 3.58 or something. Still good enough for 2nd in the class, and most importantly I should have my 10-0 starting on Monday. All I can say is that I made some really stupid mistakes that I am disappointed about, but it was a realitive small test for my over all gpa. Well tonight I think that I am going to take Lisa to the Bubba Gump resturaunt (www.bubbagump.com) to celebrate her new job, so that should be nice, maybe go on that walk tonight as well, we will see when she gets home. So that means we should probably have some new pics up this weekend. I am really looking forward to doing almost nothing tomorrow, I really need the break after this week, but I can't really let up because I have a big big test on Friday, that if I do really well I think I can take over #1 in the class, we will see.

Hope you all have a very nice weekend.

Night y-all 1-19-06

Jason and I went to a 'spouse night' tonight. They talked about all the things for us Navy spouses to do around here as well as doing things as a couple. There are different sports teams that they assemble, poker nights, rock climbing is always fun!, weekend marriage retreats etc. Speaking of marriage retreats, those do not cost a cent. The trip includes meals, obviously the drive(to wherever its being held), it doesn't get taken out of Jay's vacation time, it gives us a chance to get away for a bit, and it's fun. I'm not sure exactly when we will go on one, since I just started my new job, I don't want to take days off just yet. We will see. Boy I am tired, Jason is at school studying right now, he needs to do very well on his test tomorrow so he can get 10 tac zero, which means it is not manditory that he goes to study 2 hours a day after school. I know that when he does get 10 tac zero he will go and study anyway(which is fine cause his studying is important);he will just be able to study at his convenience. Ok guys I'm gettin tired so I'm gonna go, so goodnight and sweetdreams!talk to you later....Lisa(and Tony too!)

hi people!

Guess what guys.....I got the job at the Vet! Woo-Hoo! I'm going to be working as a receptionist and I actually started today, the same day as my interview. Everyone really likes me and are really nice. I think this will be a perfect fit. Sorry this is so short, I gotta run and get something to eat, I'm starving! talk to you guys later...Lisa

Night y-all.

Good evening,

Well after another long day I'm feeling pretty good all things considered. I think that I am starting to get used to these 6 hours nights again, I'm able to make it through the whole day of school without any issues of sleepiness kickin in, which is more than I can say for some of my shipmates, man every day it's the same ones falling asleep. They are lucky the instructor is nice because I think you can get kicked out of the program for sleeping in class if the US Navy so chooses. Well my class keeps on digging ourselves a deeper hole. I guess today during night study they were talking even though we are on "Ordered Quiet" and an Master Chief walked in and yelled at the class, well that is almost certain to get back to our SLPO (section leading petty officer basically an advisor for our journey through A school) which means more trouble for the whole class even though only a couple people were talking, which I understand completely. I'm trying to study harder every day and learn the material the first time instead of having to "cram" again this weekend for my 2nd big test a week from Friday, but I'm getting distracted easy. I'm hoping that I can take some time this weekend and study and really focus on my work and catch up for the week. Well 2 of the most comfortable pillows (1 being a feather pillow) in the world are calling my name, and I must answer.

Good Afternoon! on 1-18-06 @ 12 o'clock

So what's up everybody? My day is just getting started, I actually woke up about 15 minutes ago. I love sleeping in, it's great!! Once I get a job I will not be sleeping in a whole lot, so I might as well take advantage of it while I can. I just recieved a text message and call from my big sis' Maria, it was nice talking to her. She has her beauty lisence and works at a high class hair salon in Bermingham, MI.. I also have a younger sister, Susie. She will be going away to college this summer, last I heard, she wants to major in Elementary Education. (Believe it or not Susie, I'm proud of you!) Last but certainly not least, my one and only brother, Mike. He is a freshman in High school and an outstanding goalie for the Michigan Jaguars. I will not be surprised when he goes pro! Oh yeah, I have a mom and dad too, Paulina and Marku. They are still married after 20+ years, just thought I would throw that in considering half of the population is divorced. Jason and I plan to go on a walking tour of Charelston this weekend, it should be fun! We will be sure to post pics on here for your viewing pleasure. There are various walks that we plan to go on, the Civil War tour, Historic homes, and a Ghosts and Ledgends tour. I'm kinda nervous about the Ghosts and Ledgends...I'm a big scardy cat! Guys...I gotta run, it's almost 12:30 and I still need to shower, call the place about tickets for the Walk of Charelston, and watch Genaral Hospital all before 16 hundred(4pm), because that is when I pick up Jay from school. see ya! Lisa

Good Evening!

Good Evening everyone,

Well here is a little more info on how school is going for me: so far after two tests my overall gpa is 3.59 / 4.0 (I'm hoping that goes up because I question some of the points they took away from my last test and have requested a regrade) that's good for #2 only .006 points behind #1. Being #1 would be nice but what I am really looking forward to is that if I do somewhat well on my Math test on Friday, my study hours will change. Right now I am required to put in 2 hours a day and 15 total for the week, if my GPA is 3.4 or higher after the test on Friday that will change to 0 hours required per day and 10 per the week, so that means more time with Lisa and Tony. Today I found a broucher for "Walking tours" of Charleston there are quite a few to pick from, Lisa and I are very interested about these tours and we are going to check out cost this weekend. Some of the walks that we are most interested is the haunted one, historic homes, and Civil War. We promise to take lots of pictures and post them as soon as possible, maybe this weekend. Well tomorrow is another long day for me as I have to be at school at 0615 that's 10 minutes early, but I'll probably show up around 0545 or so just to be early, plus If I show up early enough it counts towards my study hours, I also have to stand watch tomorrow night between 2000 - 2200 (8-10 pm for you civilians) basically babysit my class make sure that no one causes problems and everyone studies. Well that is all for now I will try to add some more tomorrow.

-Jason

Hey, What's Up!

Hi everybody! Just to give you guys an update, I have not found a job yet but I'm activly looking. I have an interview at that vetrinary clinic on thursday, wish me luck! I also went to a job workshop here on base and that helped me prepare questions to ask on interviews, also to make sure our resumes were up to par. The instructer was very helpful and suggested that I do childcare out of our home. I'm not sure about that, on one hand I think it would be really nice to have my work come to me which would mean Jason would be able to take the car everyday without a problem. On the other hand I would want to get out of the house, working from home might get old after a while, not to mention that we would have to have insurance for that kind of work, I guess things will work out eventually , I just need to be patient. I did fill out an app. at Subway, which is near Jason's school. The manager said he will review my app. and call me for an interview, we will see. That is it for now, I'll keep you guys posted during these next couple days. Bye! Lisa
p.s. Tony says "Hello!" ha ha ha

Good News

Hi all, well today started kinda rough, got up at 0400 after about maybe 5 hours of sleep because we had to go work out. After working out we had our first big test... and the results are in I got a 3.52 / 4.0 good for 2nd in the class again. Overall my GPA is 3.58 again 2nd in the class. But overall my class did so bad we got on "Ordered Quiet" which means no talking wat so ever, which is a good think imo, but the thing that sucks is some days I will have to wear two different uniforms which sucks because it is hard for me to change during school without a car. All the single guys on base live within a 3 minute walk to the school house. I'll probably have to talk with someone about leaving one of my uniforms in their room and change at lunch. Well gotta go, I'll add more later.

Happy Monday

Well today is MLK Jr. day so I have the day "off of work", what that means Is there is no class today but I still have to go in and study. Last night I put in 8.5 hours of studying. Today I would like to put in about the same but as you can see I've gotten a late start, I just got up about 10 minutes ago. This weekend I watched more football than I have since before boot camp so that was nice. And they were great games as well. Next Sunday Lisa and I will be having a mini party, with about 4 guests. Two of my buddies from Colorado who love the Broncos, and I also invited two females from my class to come and hang out with Lisa. So that should be fun. Here is an update on Tony, well it seems that ignoring him just that one time has done the trick, I don't remember him meowing at all last night. It also may be because we have both made it a point to give him more attention when we can, so he seems to be doing better. Well I gotta go get ready for studying.

Have a great day.

-Jason

I'll also try and get Lisa to post more frequently as well.

Sunday, January 15, 2006

Morning

Good Morning,

Well our ignoring Tony seems to have worked for the most part, he only started meowing once last night, we ignored him, and he stopped. So hopefully after maybe another day or two of this he will stop all together. Well I'm about to go study for 5 or 6 hours, fun fun fun, I tell you. Other than studying not a lot on the table for today, probably just a quiet day with Lisa and I. Have a nice Sunday.

Good Night

Well today was a good day for the most part, Lisa and I had fun playing soccer with my class. We then went to Sam's club and got a membership, I bought a giant container of Cheese Balls that I took to class to share with my classmates, so far it's a big hit. As far as Tony driving us crazy at night, everything I found online said to ignore him, that he is doing it for attention, and any attention we give him is a reward, so we will try our best to ignore him for a couple of days, if that doesn't work, I'll have to break out my squirt gun... hehehe! I only studied for like 1 1/2 hours today because French was coming over to watch the game which his favorite team the Broncos won, so that was nice. I like when he comes over, it kind of gives both of us a break from our everyday life here at A school. Plus I think Lisa likes having guests over it kinda helps with her being alone a lot lately. Well I'm about to hit the sack, I have a long day ahead of myself tomorrow, at least 6 hours of studying because I choose to slack today. Here is a picture of French, I met him at boot camp he was in my division, he is from Colorado, and we seem to be becoming pretty good friends. Well that is all for tonight, I'll try and post tomorrow. Maybe Lisa and I will go for a walk and take some pictures of around the area. I don't think I can take outdoor pictures of the base so we'll try and find a park around here or something.

Good night
-Jason

Good Afternoon!

Hey everyone, it's Lisa. I had a great time playing soccor with Jay and his classmates! It was really fun. I hope my family gets to take a look at our blog, They would really like it I think. Anyway, here is a picture of my mom and I. Enjoy!

Morning

Morning all. Well this morning started kinda rough, lately Tony has been making a lot of noise at 4 or 5 in the morning, meowing or pawing at things, and we can't figure out why, he has food and water, and if we get out of bed to see what's wrong he runs and hides under the couches, this has been going on for about a week or two, it's starting to become a problem. I'll have to do some research online if I can find any ideas. On the schedule for today is mando fun (or team building event) at 1100, basically the whole class 40+ of us have to go to the park today for pizza, pop and fun. We can bring our families so it's not too bad because I would like Lisa to meet some of the guys. After that I have studying to do, I have a big test on Tuesday and I need to do well. Currently I am required to study 15 hours a week / 2 hours a day after the 40 I put in at school. They require hours based on your GPA, currently I have the 2nd highest in the class at 3.87 / 4.0. If I do well on this test and the math test on Friday my study hours will change to 10 hours per week 0 required per day, so it wouldn't matter what 10 hours I put in as long as I put in 10 in a week, so I could technically put all 10 in on the weekend. Which would be great because 9 hours of school (including lunch) and 2 or 3 hours of studying makes for a long day. Then after studying my buddy French is coming over to watch the Broncos / Pats game. Well that is all for now. I will work on getting more pictures up of the house and area in the coming days / weeks.

Hello

I am 22 years old and Jason and I have been married for over 3 years. We recently moved to South Carolina. We created this site to help us stay in touch with our families. Hope everyone enjoys our site! Here is a picture of me and Tony.

Rock Climbing

Here are some pictures of Lisa and me climbing the rock wall on base. We both had a good time, although we just climbed for a little while because Lisa had a headache. She is a lot better than I am at climbing walls. Besides the good time we had, it was a cheap date as well, only $4.00 a person for 1 hour and that includes all of the equipment. You can climb the whole day for just $6.00. The clothes I am wearing are boot camp issue, right now on base I am only allowed to wear official US Navy clothing, so that explains my choice of clothing. But next week I will be authorized to wear civilian clothing, yay!

Welcome

Welcome to our blog. We will both update this as much as possible, however this is our first attepmt at a blog so we have no idea how successful it will be. We hope to stay in touch with our friends and family through this site. We encourage all of you to add your comments. A little about me in case anyone stumbles across this site. I am 25 years old, I joined the US Navy in September of 2005, prior to that I worked at EDS for 6 years, supporting the GM Dealer community. Currently I am training to become a Machinist's Mate. I am a Sub Volunteer which means hopefully I will be working on a submarine one day in the future. A machinist's mate job description is as follows: Machinist's mates work within the hull of a ship in fire rooms, boiler rooms, engine rooms or shops. These locations are sometimes hot and noisy. MMs may be required to perform some heavy physical work. They must be able to work closely with others and, in some cases, with limited supervision. Basically I'll be wrenching on a submarine (hopefully, if not an Air Craft Carrier). Well that is all for now stay tuned for more posts.

Jason.
