Our Trip

Well sorry for the delay.

Well our trip kinda got off to a rough start, first Lisa did not want to get out of bed:

After I said I would make breakfast she finally got out and started to get ready. Then I decided that maybe we should have directions for where we are going, so I went online and that is when I noticed that the hotel I booked wasn't on Myrtle Beach, it wasn't even in South Carolina. It was on Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina, about an hour North of North Myrtle Beach which is where Tim and Stephanie were staying at. But the Hotel's cancellation policy was that there are no cancellations, so what ever, we started our journey.

Then the second bad thing that happened that day, we paid extra for an ocean view room with a balcony, well what we paid for was not what we got, we had what I considered basically a landing for a balcony and our "Ocean View" was a stair case:
Other than these few hickups things were nice. We had a nice relaxing weekend together.

Here is a picture of Lisa on the Beach holding her Sea Shells:

Well we spent a lot of time on the beach, the waves were very powerful they did not seem to be that big but the had a big punch, tossing us both around. After about 10 minutes we had enough of the waves so into the pool. It wasn't very big but it was nice and close to our room. One one trip to the pool Lisa and I were just kinda hanging out by the edge and a little girl maybe 9 or so jumped in making a splash, I didn't make too much of it but her mom just kept on apologizing to me and telling her daughter to be careful, then I said "It's ok I'll get her back", we all had a good laugh. Well we were about to leave the pool and I hadn't returned the favor yet, because I thought it may be a little traumatizing for me to splash her in the deep end where she has no where to go. But as we were leaving I saw her get out of the pool, that was my window of opportunity. So I cannon balled her perfect, we all had a good laugh again and I wish them fairly well.

Our day in Myrtle Beach with Tim and Stephanie was nice, it got off to a rocky start seeing they were waiting at our meeting spot a Kroger, and we were at a different Kroger about 15 - 20 minutes up the street, took us about 2 minutes to realize what was going on. Then we decided to go to Cheeseburger in Paradise but we could not find it so we settled for HRC. It was pricey, food wasn't that great, but we got to the front of the 45 - 60 minute wait for a table because Tim and Stephanie had a VIP card. After dinner we went to Cold Stone Creamery in the heat of the moment Lisa claimed this to be better than Ben and Jerry's but she woke up the next morning (or was it afternoon) and retracted her statement.

Overall I'd give the overall weekend a 3 out of 5 snaps, with a bonus snap for being able to hang out with some friends from home for a total of 4 out of 5 snaps.

Friday July 21st

Hello all,

Well today I got off work a little early, when I got home I was surprised to see Lisa was already home. She had a real bad headache so she stayed home from work. Well we took a nap and after a couple of hours of sleeping and some Tylenol she was feeling better, so we went to the on base free movie this evening. It was Silent Hill, I would not recommend that movie. It was one of those suspenseful movies that tend to give me the willies. Besides that the plot was really weird as well. Well tomorrow I have duty so I'll probably not be able to post anything until after our mini vacation. So you all have a safe weekend and look for lots of pics mid to late next week.

Hello!

hey what's up guys?! I just got back from having lunch with Jay. It was nice seeing him during the day. Since I have Thursdays off at my work we met at his work for a "lunch date". It will be every Thursday from now on :)! I made sub sandwiches: roast beef and turkey with pepper jack cheese. We also had chips, cheez-its, and a few cookies. It was good! I think we both enjoyed seeing each other. Well, I gotta run, I need to go pick up my hubby from work in a little bit. talk to ya later!*Lisa

Long Weekend here we come

Well today we decided to make our trip to Myrtle Beach a long weekend. We've been going back and forth on whether to make it a long weekend, and overnight trip, or a day trip. Well we both feel we need a mini vacation and this will be perfect. I have duty on Saturday and will get home around 2400 Sat night / Sun morning. So once we get up Sunday morning... or afternoon knowing Lisa, we will be on our way. It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive so we should have a nice afternoon drive. We may stop at the house of blues for dinner one night, which should be fun, hopefully that is some good live music. Other than that probably spend a lot of time on the beach. We will be sure to take lots of pics and post them here.

Oh I almost forgot (actually I did, so I am editing this post), I spoke with the Captain of my command today. As I have mentioned before I am working in the mail room, and MM3 Tiz and I were sorting mail and we heard the door open, which is not unusual but we were busy so we did not look up right away, and then we heard the Captain start talking, which sucked for us because anytime a senior officer comes into a work space you are to call "Attention on deck" as a sign of respect but it was too late because he started talking and we did not want to interrupt him. He was just asking about standard operations and stuff like if we sold stamps and were students can buy stamps and stuff like that. It was cool because he remembered me from about a month ago when we had brief casual conversation.

Long Time No Talk!

Hey it's Lisa, I have been busy with work n'stuff. I'm learning to be more domestic, just trying different dinners and baking and stuff, I kinda like it! Well, I have a bike now...I went on a bike ride when Jay was working and it was really really hot and humid so I had to cut it short. Next weekend Jay and I are going to Myrtle beach to visit w/some friends that will be in the area. We haven't been to any beaches yet so I'm really exited! Right now I gotta run, I need to do some grocery shopping and make dinner before Jay has to go back to work, see ya! Lisa
P.S. miss you mom! (and all the rest of OUR fam.)

Sunday, July 9th

Hello,

Well today we had a nice relaxing day. I got my hair cut and cut the grass. Speaking of the grass, it has been neglected for a long time it appears, I think that I am going to start fertilizing it and try to get a nice lawn going. So starting next week I'm going to purchase some fertilizer and a sprinkler and see how long it takes me to have a beautiful green lawn.

Lisa and I went on another bike ride today, to take back a movie that we rented. Once Lisa gets used to riding a bike again and builds some endurance and leg muscles we will start going on longer rides. A while ago I helped build some bike paths in the woods on base and the trails are upwards to 10+ miles, so that is our short to mid term goal.

Today Lisa did some research online about dogs, she wants one real bad, I don't want one at all, at least not now, maybe someday when we are a bit older. It is unbelievable how expensive some of these dogs can be, upwards to $2000+, just crazy in my opinion. She made a steak on the George Foreman™ and it turned out really well.

Well hope everyone had a nice weekend.

Happy Trails!

Hi all,

Well today was a breath of fresh air for me, my first complete day off in probably around 2 weeks, it was nice to sleep in until 0800. Lisa had to work this morning, so that was a bonus for me as well because I got to play on the computer for 4 hours. Lisa says hi to everyone.

When Lisa got home she made lunch we had sandwiches and soup and then we went bike shopping for her, after 5 or 6 stores we found one she liked, and it was on clearance also, so that was good for me.

When we got home we went on a bike ride up to captain Roberts dive and got a pizza then stopped at the nex for a movie, so we had a pretty nice little Saturday.

Well talk to you later

Finally a day off

Well today is my first day off in the last week, and it is much needed. I know that I really have a whole lot of room to gripe because there are sailors who have much worse jobs then I do, but it is kind of a disappointment to be lead to believe one thing and then all of a sudden it gets flipped upside down on you. Anyway this week hasn't been real bad, the way things usually work is you get assigned a place to clean, cleaning the same stuff over and over again, which was ok, but I didn't really like it and you really can't be noticed doing anything spectacular. But on Monday I got a better job, it seems my career has gone full circle, I am now working in the NNPTC mail room, doing the same stuff I started my career doing for EDS. The other guy that used to do it got fired for being a general dirt bag, and the Petty Officer in charge just asked for someone who was squared away, and my higher ups sent me. So it feels good to be noticed and rewarded for the hard work I have done on T-Track since March. This job also makes my duty section more tolerable. Well anyway I have to work on the 4th of July so that sucks, but it could be worse.

Today on the agenda is grocery shopping and going to a cook out at Lisa's friend Lauren's house. Here's hoping the food is good.

Well talk to you later and have a nice weekend and 4th of July.
