Saturday

Well yesterday afternoon we were able to get all the required paperwork for the truck so I am now driving it. As I stated before it is a manual transmission so I am getting the hang of that. Last night I did real well, today not so much, stalled it out a couple of times.

The battery posts and terminals were really corroded, so I spent an hour or so cleaning / replacing them. Which definitely was not as easy as I had imagined. The old cables were crimped to the terminal and there was no un-crimping it so I had to cut them off, which I did not want to do because I was worried there would not be enough cable after I connected the new terminals, but there was. I still may replace them, it looks pretty easy, just one bolt on the bottom of the engine.

As for the A/C after looking into it a little further if I can do it myself it will cost ~ $425 USD, which is not bad. I may call a shop to see how much they charge, but I'm pretty confident that I can do it myself. There is one hose connection that looks a little tricky, but there is an auto hobby shop on base that has a wide selection of tools and may even be able to help me out, so we will see. I'll probably wait a week or two for the A/C repairs because Lisa is paying for school this week and if we do we'll have to dip into savings.

The truck drives nice though, we took it about 30 minutes away last night no problems.

Tonight we are going over one of Lisa's friends houses for a little picnic type thing, it may have to be indoors though as it is storming here at the moment.

Have a nice weekend.

New Truck... and insurance

Well I bought a truck today, it's a 1998 Dodge dakota, so far it seems like it will be a nice little work truck. The A/C doesnt work, the compressor is bad, but I should hopefully be able to fix that myself for around 300.00, the guy was asking 2500 and I paid 1800 so I think that is a pretty good deal.

And we changed insurance companys today as well. To insure both vehicles with USAA is cheaper than insuring the Vue with State Farm. And it is pretty close to the same coverage.

Well that was our day.

Hope everyone has a nice rest of the weekend.

Lean Mean Fighting machine...

Well, I've decided that I am going to become a lean mean fighting machine, this time hopefully for good. 4 out of 5 days this week I went running, a pretty good distance too between 2 and 4 miles each day, and I've started to eat healthier. I've lost 8-10 lbs this week, I figure that's pretty good. It helps that I have a running buddy and we run like 0400 in the morning before it gets really hot, but it is still pretty unbearable.

I've decided that I may be in the market for a used car, preferable a truck, just something to get me back and forth to work. I've seen some trucks out there, but nothing that has quite met my fancy yet. I'm really looking for a small truck 4 cylinder with a manual.

Well hope you all have a nice weekend.

i'm back and in one piece!

hey i'm back home from my trip to six flags.! we had so much fun!!! i would do it again in a heart beat! we went on this on ride that took us up 200 feet, needless to say the ride is called "the Goliath"yeah it was pretty scary! i had my eyes closed the whole time. oh my gosh, this one ride called the superman, i actually started to cry when we sat down in the seats, i was so scared, but it turned out to be pretty cool. you start by sitting down and the harness comes over you, but then the seats are turned backward so you are looking at the ground! so hence the name "superman", you are "flying like superman" on the ride. again, i had my eyes closed on this one too, for the most part. the feeling of the air going a gazillion miles an hour and people screaming were enough for me, i didn't need to open my eyes the whole time and give myself a heartattack! lol! but i did do a couple quick peeks and then i saw the ground underneath me and i shut my eyes and didn't open them again! hehe we also went on water rides, brook and erica got soaked by this one huge wave that landed right on them! it was funny! i was wet too but they were soaked!!

yeah, the hotel we stayed in was the Hilton garden inn, it was nice, but i would have preferred to stay at an embassy, cause well that is where i work! lol! yesterday, we went to eat at the hard rock cafe and it was nice. i have a bunch of pictures on myspace.com/lisa15may you can go check em' out. they will be a "pics" link right under my photo in the top left corner. ttyl.

The bastardization of jeans.

Well there was a time in my pre-adult life that I refused to wear jeans, wearing only Khakis, then came a point were I would wear jeans but only the Polo Jeans Company Jeans with the little American Flag on the back pocket, those jeans were awesome, perfect color, perfect fit and not too pricey. But I guess someone somewhere a while ago decided that the "in" look for jeans is the ratty, torn up, faded in color look, which I despise. In addition to that tight jeans are in style from what I can tell. I hate tight jeans, I hate everything about the jeans I spent the better part of 3 hours yesterday trying on, in 2 malls I could not find a decent pair of jeans. I guess you probably wasted your time reading this post, but I just felt like complaining about fashion.

Oh since I'm on this kick apparently monogramming the cuff or your dress shirt became tacky... or maybe it always was and I just didn't know, and that really bothers me, because I really like my monograms, but now I'm being forced to reconsider.

I hate fashion.

Wii

Well sorry for the lack of posts as of late. This post is being made from the comfort of my couch. We bought a Nintendo Wii and I've finally connected it online (and it only cost 5.00 USD). So my day has been pretty busy, I had a color guard event, so that totally messed up my sleep. Typing on this thing is time consuming. Well my plan for this weekend is to build Tony one of those kitty condo thingys. So that should be fun, other than that tonight I may go out with some guys from work. Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Busy weekend...

Well Friday night Lisa and I watched Laeden again, which was really nice. She is just a treat to watch. She got picked up around 1130 and then I went back to bed, then about the time I got up we watched 2 kids, Katie who is 7 I think and her little brother Justin who is 4. They are cute kids, we had popcorn and watched harry potter together. And Lisa's family is coming in around 3 this morning, so I'm kinda waiting up for them, although I'm not really tired I had planned on laying down once the kids got picked up but her dad called and said they were about 3 hours away, so I'll wait up I guess. Lisa's family is staying for about a week I think so that means a really busy week for us. We are both really excited to see family though, so it's a good busy. Plus they are bring supplies from Detroit (stuff we can't find here) Mr. Pita Vernors and home cooking (We both miss her mom's cooking).

Well later
