Saturday
Well yesterday afternoon we were able to get all the required paperwork for the truck so I am now driving it. As I stated before it is a manual transmission so I am getting the hang of that. Last night I did real well, today not so much, stalled it out a couple of times.
The battery posts and terminals were really corroded, so I spent an hour or so cleaning / replacing them. Which definitely was not as easy as I had imagined. The old cables were crimped to the terminal and there was no un-crimping it so I had to cut them off, which I did not want to do because I was worried there would not be enough cable after I connected the new terminals, but there was. I still may replace them, it looks pretty easy, just one bolt on the bottom of the engine.
As for the A/C after looking into it a little further if I can do it myself it will cost ~ $425 USD, which is not bad. I may call a shop to see how much they charge, but I'm pretty confident that I can do it myself. There is one hose connection that looks a little tricky, but there is an auto hobby shop on base that has a wide selection of tools and may even be able to help me out, so we will see. I'll probably wait a week or two for the A/C repairs because Lisa is paying for school this week and if we do we'll have to dip into savings.
The truck drives nice though, we took it about 30 minutes away last night no problems.
Tonight we are going over one of Lisa's friends houses for a little picnic type thing, it may have to be indoors though as it is storming here at the moment.
Have a nice weekend.
