Our Crazy Cat

Tony is something else, he likes to play with bubbles, does not like seafood flavored treats, he used to play fetch when he was a baby, he runs around the house for no reason, and now to add to his resume.... he likes Frito's! when i got home from tae kwon do class last night jay told me that tony ate a Frito chip. of course Jason is always joking with me so i did not believe him. i grabbed a chip for myself and i let another one drop to the floor, and sure enough Tony ate it all up! it was sooo funny! he is just the cutest little thing! Enjoy the new picture of our little guy! (aka: my bodyguard) lol!

ben and jerrys factory tour!

so, Jason being the attentive husband that he is and knowing that i love surprises, when he got home from work at about 8am, he told me to get in the car because we were going somewhere. so i ask where and he says "don't worry about it" Ive learned that when he says that it means ITS A SURPRISE and i get all excited! so usually i get clues along the way to try and figure out where we are going. =)

clue #1: according to our GPS the time it would take us to get to our destination was about 4 hours if i remember correctly. so our destination was not in NY!

after about 2 hours of driving and all we pass are a bunch of cows, horses and a lake he asks me if I'm ready for my second clue, of course i am!

clue #2: he says we have seen something related to our destination.

(I'm thinking 'yeah right, all we have seen are cows, horses and a lake; hes either taking me to a farm or out on a boat! i think not!) so i continue to think about my clues.....
while on the way we were both getting hungry so we stopped at a pizza place and ate. the waiter asks if we have been to the lake yet. apparently the area we were in is known for this particular lake, so i think..... why else would the waiter mention a particular attraction to 'out of towners' if its not a 'big deal' to the area. so I'm thinking **we have got to be going fishing** because we did pass a lake and Jason did ask if my mom knew how to cook fish earlier in the car. (it was kind of a random question so i put 2 and 2 together!) so i tell Jason that i have figured out his plan, he then says "i don't want to talk about this anymore." like he was trying to hide something! i can't tell you how proud i was to figure out his sneaky plan! i finally got him! Yay for me! we finish our lunch and head back on the road, he asks if i want the last clue.... of course... (but i don't need it) hehe!

clue #3: it is something that i like or have asked about.

WHAT!!! I HAVE NEVER LIKED FISHING AND HAVE NOT ASKED ABOUT WANTING TO GO! what the heck is going on!!?? it turns out that my husband had planned to ask me fishing questions to throw me off and the waiter only added to his devious plan! GGRRR! so when we finally slow down to pull in the parking lot i read the sign slowly. Ben and Jerry's....... Ben and Jerry's factory tour....... Ben and Jerry's factory tour and gift shop! OMGosh! OMGosh!! i was like a kid on Christmas morning! WE HAD A GOOD TIME AND ENJOYED OUR TOUR AND ICE CREAM! i bought a shirt, shot glass, and ice cream locker! yes, it is specially made for the pints of B & J ice cream and it has a really locking system! =) on the device it says "there is no 'u' in my ice cream!" too funny!! i hope you enjoyed reading the story and enjoy the pics!!
so apparently i do not know how to put the pictures in sequential order, sorry...
1: the bus they used when first starting out driving across the country selling their ice cream.
2: Jason and i on the lid of chocolate chip cookie dough!
3: the floor when you first walk in, its artistic and creative!
4: the front of the building.
5: the 'flavor graveyard' where all the retired flavors are laid to rest! lol! -there is one more pic of this but it would only let me download 5 pics. sorry...

(yay i found it!) : belt ranks in martial arts.

Novice Students
White Belt – The color white signifies innocence, as that of the beginning student who has no previous knowledge of Tae Kwon Do.
Orange Belt – The color orange signifies the changes of Autumn, as the student's mind and body begin to develop and grow as a result of the new Tae Kwon Do experience.
Yellow Belt – The color yellow signifies the earth. The beginning student begins to create a firm foundation in Tae Kwon Do technique, just as a seed begins to expand its root system deep in the earth as it begins to grow.

Intermediate Students
Green Belt – The color green represents growth, like that of the green plant as it sprouts out of the ground. The student has built a firm foundation and now begins to grow in the art of Tae Kwon Do.
Blue Belt – The color blue represents the sky. Reminding the student to reach for the heavens and continue their Tae Kwon Do journey.
Purple Belt – The color purple represents the changing sky of dawn, as once again the student undergoes a new change and prepares for the transition to advanced student.

Advanced Students
Brown Belt – The color brown represents the ripening or maturing process as that of the advanced Tae Kwon Do student whose techniques are beginning to mature.
Red Belt – The color of blood signifies danger and is a warning to the student to temper her newly found skills and techniques with control and wisdom.
Senior Students
Black – The opposite of white signifies maturity and dignity, as that of a senior student of Tae Kwon Do who has learned the basic curriculum of Tae Kwon Do and is ready to become a true student of Tae Kwon Do.

Day 1 of Martial Arts Class.

so i went o my first martial arts class tonight. i learned a few things so that is good. I received my (white) belt and i learned how to properly tie it. I'm not sure how long it takes one to move up in rank, i will have to look into that. I'm also not sure of how the belt colors rank, obviously white is a beginner level but, which colors follow till you get up to black belt? we had to do push ups and sit ups, it was not that fun! lol! my instructors were really nice and there were students of all age groups in class. one of the ladies that i was next to said that it takes a couple weeks to really start getting the hang of things, so i will only get better with time! =) the place i chose to attend is Cutting Edge Martial Arts (www.martialartshero.com ); they offer 1 month free trial with uniform and NO obligation to sign up after the free month! i know it was only my first class but i really enjoyed it and look forward to going again!! anyways, just wanted to let you know how my first day went! =)

i have a dermatology appointment tomorrow at 1:30, so i hope it goes well and i can get my acne resolved once and for all. it has been very frustrating dealing with acne, Ive had it since Ive been in 7th grade! like most people who suffer from this, i have tried everything on the market including proactive!! man that stuff dried out my skin! sooo, who knows what they will say or prescribe but i will let ya know! talk to you later, Lisa

Hello.....

so we have been here for about 4 months. its not what i thought it would be, i miss my friends and its hard to meet people here. this is the first time since we have been married that i haven't had a job, I'm sure that is a big reason I'm not liking it here. we should be leaving in September so its kinda pointless to get one now especially only having one vehicle. i know I'm being a little pessimistic but I need to vent... i will have to find things to do to keep myself busy for the next 2 months... ugh, whatever...

on a different: TONY! he is a good little cat, yes i said little! he has been losing weight b/c of the automatic feeder. we have it set to dispense food at 6am and 6pm. it took him a little while to catch on that we 'don't feed him' but he got after a while. i have to say with him being about 5 1/2 years old he still has a lot of spunk. he likes to play with bubbles and still runs around the house for no apparent reason! it is too funny to watch! right now he is laying on the wood floor by the front door, probably b/c its cooler. I'm glad we have him; although i can't wait to get a dog when we move. we plan on getting a chocolate lab puppy even though i would rather have a German shepherd puppy, at least i will be getting a dog! well, that's it for now. i will make it a point to update this more often! bye for now. ~Lisa
